We Love Apple, We Love Choice

Adobe Ad on Wired.com spotted May 13th, 2010

“We love Apple, We Love choice
We love Flash and HTML5
We love our 3 million developers
We love authoring code only once
We love all platforms and devices
What we don’t love is anybody taking away your freedom to choose what you create, how you create it, and what you experience on the web.”

The gloves are off.

Update: This was spotted on the internet today. Unsure if it is from Apple, but it is pretty darn funny:

I think we can expect this to turn into a full on MEME.

here’s a thought. Take all the time and effort that you’ve spent on this nonsense, this adobe vs apple feud and instead maybe spend some time on fixing the countless number of bugs that plague the software you’ve been developing for years.

I’m talking about bugs that still exist in apps from years gone by… magic healing super fill be dammed I want apple+h to work in photoshop the same way it works in all the other OS’s apps. and some other adobe apps.

There are UI inconsistency that have been well documented for years online, not to mention the spinning beachball of death when saving graphics for web.

seriously adobe, stop fighting and get to fixing your software, you know what I would love? a software company that cared enough to fix their bugs, yep thats a choice I would love.

One day recently I installed a control panel called Menu Meters, so that I could monitor CPU usage on my Dual 2.4 GHz Macbook Pro and identify apps that were robbing processing power from vital operations.

The next day I installed ClickToFlash, a Flash blocker for Safari.

I’m not taking sides. I’m no fan of Apple’s current business model either. But my neighbour’s freedom to create bad user experiences ends where my browser begins.

Although my feeling about this can only be summed up as “a pox on both your houses,” as an ad weasel it’s breathtaking to see an earnest attempt to communicate with consumers slayed by genius.
